Boys Hate Summer

BOYS HATE SUMMER is an Indonesia band that formed in Bekasi, Illinois in 2009. Formed by Yorry (vocals, guitar) and Echon (guitar, backing vocals), the band has included Aliep (bass guitar, backing vocals), Qubil (synth, loops), and Mambie (drums, percussion) amongst its membership.

Less overtly sharing the punk rock roots of many of their alt-rock contemporaries, Boys Hate Summer have a diverse, densely layered, and guitar-heavy sound, containing elements of poppunk, melodic, powerpop, dance beat-style production and, in later recordings, electronica. Frontman Yorry is the group's primary songwriter his grand musical ambitions and cathartic lyrics have shaped the band's albums and songs, which have been described as "anguished, joy, sadness, and disappointment yorry from the nightmare".
